Marcus
Sandeman |
||||
| Marcus Sandeman was born in Wales and studied three-dimensional product design at the University of Plymouth. He worked as a product designer for several years, designing many items you may have in your home. During that time he sold works in galleries in Exeter and Lymington, before itchy feet led him to travel extensively around New Zealand. Painting
mainly in acrylic, Sandeman uses the medium to paint from dark to light,
starting with a dark primed canvas and working up to white. He is interested
in negative space and strong outlines his representational works focus
mainly on personal images of nostalgia. |

Alongside
his figurative painting, Marcus Sandeman has also been developing a series
of small panels of a more abstract nature. Working with images largely derived from themes of trees, rivers and the sea, Marcus has created these dymnamic images by first carving into the wooden panels, giving them a three-dimensional aspect and then painting in acrylic. |
