KISA
Whilst at first many of her paintings seem to edge towards abstraction, slowly forms of faces and figures emerge. Other compositions turn familiar objects such as trees, bushes and Red Indian tents into mysterious abstract landscapes using lively brush techniques with a vibrant palette built up over many layers.

Kisa, paints in oils and pigments on board and canvas. She read Humanities at Bristol Polytechnic and as well as being an artist is also an author for Oxford University Press, most recently on a series retelling classic fairytales for children learning English as a foreign language. Her writing has a distinct and intriguing influence on her painting.

Kisa has exhibited at the Royal West of England Academy (2001, 2002, 2004), the Bristol Guild (2003, 2006) and
participated in David Simon Gallery's Christmas Exhibition (2006), Figures in the Landscape (Spring 2007), The
Nude and The Still Life (September 2007) and first solo exhibition with David Simon Gallery 2008.
