Born in Dublin in 1959, Fiona Joyce was trained in Fine Art at Dun Laoghaire College of Art, Co. Dublin. In the 1980s she studied stained glass panelling, a discipline that has perhaps also influenced her painting style. Joyce has been painting full time since the late 1980s, always focusing on colour and form and her greatest inspiration being drawn from the west of Ireland, France and the south-west of England. She also holds a strong fascination with studying the play of light within interior scenes, particularly evening and early morning. Fiona
Joyce's paintings have been exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions
in galleries in Dublin; Cork and Langedoc, France. Examples of her work
are also in the collections of a number of hotels in Ireland, the Allied
Irish Banks, and Enterprise Ireland. |
