Franco
Fusari was
born in Chiampo in the Veneto region of north-eastern Italy in 1945 into
an important artistic family. His father was a sculptor and his maternal
great-grandfather, Angelo Pizzi, also a painter and sculptor, was given
the post of Director of the Accademia di Belle Arti by Napoleon after
the conquest of Venice in 1797 and designed the Napoleonic Aisle in Piazza
San Marco, Venice. Over the past few years Fusari has been concentrating on the female nude, capturing a harmonious elegance and sensual beauty in delicate studies with conté crayon, charcoal and graphite. Franco Fusari has work in a number of public collections including the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts and the Bass Museum of Art, Miami as well as in private collections throughout the world. He has exhibited his work in America, Britain, Germany, Spain, Austria, and Finland. |
